About this event

Enjoy a free outdoor screening of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and discover the science of space.

View from behind two children sitting on a beach towel on the grass, watching an underwater scene on a large movie screen in the background. Several other people are seated on blankets or camping chairs.

Enjoy Chicago’s summer evenings with Fossils & Flicks, a free outdoor movie series that puts a science spin on classics loved by all ages. From Star Wars: The Last Jedi to Finding Nemo, each event pairs a popular feature film with a short science movie, covering topics like space and oceans.

Movies take place on the museum’s northeast terrace, alongside family-friendly activities including specimen carts, a hands-on Dino Dig, and lawn games.

The Field Green Bar & Grill offers food and drink for purchase, including our Tooth & Claw brew and other craft beers. Cap off your evening with a view of the Navy Pier fireworks after each show.

Fossils & Flicks is free to attend, no registration required. Activities start at 5pm and movies start at 7pm. Arrive early to grab your spot!
